Rick Apologizes on Good Morning America

On October 8, 2010, Rick appeared with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos on Good Morning America, took responsibility and apologized for his comments: “I said some things I shouldn’t have said. They were wrong. Not only were they wrong, they were offensive.”  Rick added, “…I apologize and it was wrong for me to be so careless and so inartful… But it happened and I can’t take it back and, you know what, now I have to stand up and be responsible.”

Rick said that his comments were not meant to be anti-Semitic, but that he went into the interview “… feeling a little bit put out, and I was feeling a little sensitve, and I was looking at the landscape… and I externalized the problem and I put it on Jon Stewart’s shoulders, and I was wrong to do that.”
