Guestbook
Hi Rick,
I'm 70 years old and my afternoons revolved around watching your show. Everyone in the family knew that for those two hours everything stopped. They enjoyed the show too. I liked listening to someone whose love for their family showed through.
The void has been so evident since Ricks departure in the face of current and recent events - he is a voice we need to hear. His passionate, sincere, delivery along with wt and humor do bring a dimension rarely seen by other news presenters or commentators Of course this can place him on the edge of controversy himself at times, but even he can step back when he needs to and regroup. It was unjust and unprecedented what CNN did with Rick, surely there can be a meeting of the mavericks in this business to make way for his return that is so sorely needed at this time. Besides, I miss "My boy Rick!" bringing me the breaking stories with an intimate delivery few achieve on the visual medium.
HI RICK, I AM GLAD TO READ THAT YOU ARE DOING WELL, MISS YOU, BUT I KNOW GOD HAS SOMETHING BETTER IN STORE FOR YOU. WHEN HE CLOSES ONE DOOR, HE OPENS ANOTHER. GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY IN THE NEW YEAR AND THE YEARS TO COME.
No doubt you will land back on your feet, fighters always do! BOL 2011
Ricardo, we miss you terribly!!!! You need to be on the air again. CNN was really dumb to let you go. Why did they? I know why, they are the ones that are bigots. I think they were resentful of your success and the marvelous way you could translate with such ease from Spanish to English and viceversa. This is not an easy task!
Miss Fotos Del Dia, Rick's List, and the originator, YOU!
Saludos.
I would, very much, like Rick back on CNN. I would listen to him every day while at work, and felt that we were getting straight news from him. And, I liked that he didn't let people come on his program just to spurt whatever their self-interest were, without having to answer some tough questions from him. I don't find that anyone else on CNN does that like Rick. I know that Rick had to haved faced some bigotry in his life, I live in Florida, so I know what goes on. And he had to handle some tough stories that had to do with bigotry, and I never though for one second that his program showed anything but intolerance for bigotry of any kind. CNN and Rick could have used the 'interview' to open a complete series on dialog. CNN really disappointed me. I've actually been listening to MSNBC more now, but would go back to CNN if they re-hired him.
Rick
Accuracy in reporting is the cornerstone of journalism in my opinion.
I know that you and your former employer strive to be as accurate as you can be and that says a lot about your integrity.
Rick, keep your chin up! You will be back stronger in 2011. My family misses you. It was always comforting to see you on TV. You were not afraid of handling any topic. They messed up when they got rid of you. Will be someones else's gain. Take care!
Rick,
Please take a look at my "comment," on the ...interview page. I hope you are doing well and I certainly hope to see you on TV again sometime soon!
I've missed seeing and hearing about what matters to you, mainly because most of what matters to you, matters to me and should matter to most others... as life for all is tough.
Someday, I hope to get the courage and send you my bio and life experiences. I too, was born into a poor family (and I am not Hispanic or of Latina descent... I am a normal Caucasian woman). My family, with five children including me, made no more than $20,000 per year.
I've also been very poor since being declared disabled living on a maximum of $694. per month. Below poverty level.
Anyway, hope to see and hear you soon!
God bless,
Diana Toohey ("2e")
You are very much missed, I am happy to see you on Twitter, but I hope to see you on air again very soon!!! God Bless, know you are loved.
